Constipation

Now a days we are so careless about our health. Constipation has become a common problem now a days. Some of the important causes of constipation are low fiber diets, lack of water intake, lack of exercise and stress. Constipation might also be due to hemorrhoids; a painful swelling around anus, due to which patient avoids going to washroom. (It is really painful if external and may also cause bleeding).

Here are some tips to avoid constipation:

First of all improve your eating habits. Eat high fiber diet, eg. fruits, wheat, beans, broccoli, oat etc. Meanwhile start taking Ispaghool (husk) 2 tbsp. 3 times a day until ur bowel habits have improved.

    Next drink plenty of water, at least 18 glasses per day!

 Exercise daily, at least for 15 min, such as brisk walking. It can help stimulate bowel habits.

 When you feel the urge to defecate, immediately go to washroom. DON'T avoid going due to pain, it will worsen your condition.

Constipation
One of the causes of constipation is high intake of low fiber/high fat food and dairy products. eg, eggs, meat, cheese etc. Cut down their intake slowly.


Avoid high fat products

Take sitz bath atleast for 15 minutes at a time if u have haemorrhoids. It is a warm water bath for buttocks and hips. Dry ur area afterwards.

Some other causes may be pregnancy, overuse of laxatives, and some diseases like hypothyroidism, inflammatory bowel disease etc.
